The Simrad AR80 Analog Repeater displays a vessel heading from a connected gyroscope with a display accuracy of ±0.1°, on a dual dial marked every 1° (outer dial), every 0.1° (inner dial) and numbered every 10° in high contrast white-on-black. Dial illumination provides clear visibility in all lighting conditions, with brightness controlled by a rotary button beneath the display.
The AR80 Analog Repeater accepts serial data (RS422), and runs on 24VDC. The 15-pin D-type connector has pins allocated for power and serial data. The repeater’s serial input is configured to recognize NMEA 0183 HDT, HDG and HDM sentence structures in priority order.
